Why Take the Picture?
Whether we create a visual image via an exam or one with an x-ray or one through endoscopy or one with ultrasounds or MRI's or our microscope or otoscope or ophthalmoscope we now have something to share.
Either we want to share to educate or share asking for opinions from our colleagues, the TapVet mobile app has become an indispensable tool in our hectic workplace to do exactly this.
TapVet for Professionals is exclusive to veterinarians, technicians and vet/tech students all sharing photos, comments and opinions on photos in a safe and secure community.
Here are some cases we've seen to give you an idea if what the app is all about.
A CASE WE CAN ALL LEARN FROM
This case was posted by a doctor asking for help. He received recommendations which led to a diagnosis. A great example how a case begins as a problem and ends as an educational tool. This vet biopsied and cultured this lesion and revealed a neutrophilic dermatitis growing an MRSP. Dog was treated with topical mupirocin ointment and oral Doxycycline. Success!!
X-RAYS WITH DENTAL PROCEDURES? HERE'S WHY.
Case of a dentistry where the lesion was almost missed during routine dental cleaning. The lesion sits adjacent to 206 and was later diagnosed with MRI and biopsy as a nasal carcinoma. This case was posted to help justify taking full mouth radiographs during routine dental procedures.
MULTIPLE OPINIONS CAN REALLY HELP
Great case posted from veterinarian asking for opinions on skin lesions. Three year old dog with pruritic skin and rupturing multifocal fleshy ulcerative lesions. Biopsy is pending - story line continues.
Fine needle aspirate of lymph node revealed a lymphocytic plasmacytic reaction. Obviously this poor dog needs corticosteroids to calm things down but will the biopsies help in isolating the antigen stimulating the lymph node inflammation?
